As you are traveling
towards Laguna Del Sol, turning off Highway 99, you
journey down Dillard Road through scenic farmland and you
wonder, "Just exactly what will I find? Am I going
to wind up naked with a herd of cows and is the spa in
reality a watering trough?" Nothing could be further from the truth. As you turn onto Quince Lane (which will guide you to Rawhide Lane), you will be drawn into an oasis that you wouldn't think existed in the middle of this proverbial nowhere. Since this could be your first time, you will be required to register at the front office. If you are an AANR member, you shouldn't be required to take the "Tour". Be prepared to do so, if you have no other club affiliation. This is the best resort in Northern California. There is plenty of room to roam, (don't worry - no cows) and you have plenty of options for activities, especially if you're visiting during one of their many fun filled event weekends during the warmer seasons. Some of the amenities are:
If you live less than 2 hours away, membership is very affordable and pays for itself with just two visits a month. Membership has it's advantage as for one of the most popular events, Nudestock, reservations were given to members first. There is adequate room for campers and RV'ers can now enjoy sites that are constantly being upgraded/ Beware, though, if you're a 'quiet' camper as during some of the weekend festivities, the lounge is open past midnight and sounds of the dances can be heard through much of the facility. Also be advised that if you are tent camping that it's very possible for you to have an RV park next to you and that there are no provisions for a 'no generator' zone. If you're going to camp for a weekend and you forgot some goodies or necessary items, the Dillard Store, halfway to the resort has an interesting compliment of items to choose from. The new restaurant overlooking the lake opened in Summer of 2003. With the removal of the old restaurant, the middle pool deck area has been completed transformed with the latest addition of the 'Conversation Pool' and the existing spa being updated. The latest improvements for 2005 have been the addition of a new tennis court and resurfacing of the other two. The volleyball court has a new look and is popular as ever. The owners seem to be committed toward continual improvements and have recently committed to more. Your visit to Laguna del Sol shouldn't be disappointing. |
