How To Start

"Soon as it was night out we shoved; when we got her out to about the middle we let her alone, and let her float wherever the current wanted her to; then we lit the pipes, and dangled our legs in the water, and talked about all kinds of things -- we was always naked, day and night, whenever the mosquitoes would let us -- the new clothes Buck`s folks made for me was too good to be comfortable, and besides I didn`t go much on clothes, nohow." Chapter 19 of Mark Twain`s Huckleberry Finn.

Throughout life we've been implanted with what is good or bad behavior, acceptable or unacceptable thinking and the like. During our first 18 years of life ( unless you were bought up in a 'natural' environment) we are under a tremendous amount of pressure to 'conform', accept the standard' or 'be like everyone else'. It's our differences in upbringing, social values and our environment that shapes so much of what we are.

We are all due a right to our own personalities, that's a granted privilege. Our 'foundation' is how we think, feel & act and how we relate that to our life environment, whether at work, home or a social climate. Our behavior patterns are slowly developed, link by link, from parental influence initially, until we begin the socializing process that begins with our school years and continues into our adulthood.

Your ability to deal with these changes was parallel to your anticipated ability to accept the fact that you were subjected to what others believed were acceptable behavior patterns. Once you decide that you wish to pursue a particular lifestyle, such as naturism, or whatever term you wish to choose.

Once you have made a conscious decision to accept a new or different lifestyle, you will sense a marked change in how you behave and interact with others. Attitude is everything, but it's the attitude you adopt that matters and makes a difference. Once you are ready, you are ready to grow.
